Background on the data set

This data set gives mass, height, and diameter measurements of a sample of size 25 of Labrunier green seedless grapes (a product from Brazil) from a single bunch purchased in Tacoma, Washington in December, 2008. To select the sample, all the grapes from the bunch were removed and numbered, after which grape numbers were selected at random for measurement (using computer-generated pseudo-random numbers).

Masses of the grapes were measured with a digital scale. Diameters and heights were measured with a digital caliper. Height refers to the distance from the point at which the grape was detached from the bunch to approximately the opposite end of the grape. Diameter refers to the largest diameter over all circles lying in a plane perpendicular to the axis used to measure the height. Diameters were found only approximately, by manual experimentation with each grape.
